ALWEST, ALCAN also known by a variety of other names:

These boats built between the 60's and late 70's were originally designed and built by Alcan, the Canadian Aluminum company.

What's cool and unusual about these boats in my mind is the fantastic extrusions that where designed and made that form the basis of the boat design.

The extrusions make up all the hard edges and corners that connect the sheet material of the hull together.

Gunnels, chine and keel are all extruded and 3/16 and 1/4 inch sheet material make up the hull.

These are extremely solid well built boats, many have been adopted from the house cruisers they were to working boats, abd dive boats. We bought ours as a house boat, completly stripped it and rebuilt her as a working dive charter boat.
