TENT ISLAND    July 2005

This was a dive I had always wanted to do but it never seemed to get to the top of the list. We had a chance for our friend Michel to run our boat for us so we decided it was time and would take advantage of having a live boat and try to dive the whole wall.

This was one terrific dive ! When we hit the water we were immediately greeted by several big mud sharks and a couple of good size ling cod. Drifting along with the current we continually met up with more mud sharks, dog fish call them what you want, they are spectacular little sharks no matter what you call them. Three and four feet in length and quite curious about us the new visitors in the neighborhood. Lots of variety along a sand shell bottom with small and large boulders. One quite large house size boulder was shelter for a lot of rock fish and greenlings. A few Sea Penn and lots of the normal Anemones. We were surprised when we finally ascended to find that we were just of the drying rock at the south end. We had indeed succeeded in swimming from the Bay on the Northwest side all the way down to the drying rocks approaching the south end.

A great dive.
